Boundary Box Adapter Kit.

Remove the water meter or manifold plug and then remove the Non Return Valve housing and small “O” ring from the meter manifold. Ensure that the large “O” ring on the water meter manifold is removed and retained for re-fitting later.

Step 2.

Remove the non return valve mechanism and small “O” ring from the housing and retain for re-fitting later. Next refit the housing without the Non Return valve mechanism back into the meter manifold.

The Boundary Box Adapter Kit can be used with tail out meter boxes to insert the Ferret Head into the leaking pipe without excavating.

The Kit comprises of:

  1. Adapter

  2. Proving Probe

  3. Connection Hose with non return valve

Step 1.

Before fitting the adapter check that the large “O” ring is correctly located. Then screw the male threaded adapter into the female thread in the meter manifold. Tighten the adapter with a suitable meter fitting key.

Step 3.

Step 4.

Connect the yellow Inlet Hose to the adapter and turn on the stopcock and check that there are no leaks from the adapter. Then connect the other end of Inlet Hose to Ferret. (Note - The end of the inlet hose with the NRV fitted should be connected to the Ferret).

Use the Head Size and Bend Prover, as shown, to establish if a size 1 or size 2 Ferret Head should be used and to test for 90 degree bends and lead gripper joints that might damage the Ferret cord. Then remove the Head Size and Bend Prover tool.

Step 5.

Step 6.

Feed the Cord from the Ferret through the Outlet Hose and then attach the selected Ferret Head. Then manually push approximately 1m of cord through the connection on the Adapter. Connect the Outlet Hose to Adapter and the Ferret is ready for operation.

Now reverse the process

At the end of operations reverse the process described above.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE “O” RINGS ARE RE-FITTED CORRECTLY ON THE WATER METER AND THE NON RETURN VALVE HOUSING.
