Ferret pipe depth feature explained

Ferret leak detector

We've tuned the sonde on the Ferret so that operators can work out how deep they'll have to dig to uncover the leak. They can do this even if their pipe tracing equipment doesn't have a depth measuring function. If you know for example that the pipe is only around half a meter deep then it’s possible to dig a very small hole to uncover and repair the leak. This can significantly reduce the costs on jobs where decorative surface coverings have to be removed to access the pipeline. In most ground types and conditions the sonde will work well to a depth of 2m and beyond. Knowing an excavation will need to be this deep allows you to plan how long the job is likely to take and if any additional equipment will be required before you start digging.
